Use the familiar scent item and follow the routine reviewed at pickup. Plan for an adjustment period: your puppy is learning a new home, new people, and new expectations.

Early work begins with us, but a new home still requires practice. Keep routines consistent, supervise closely, and offer potty opportunities after waking, eating, drinking, and active play. Notice your puppy’s signals and calmly reinforce successful trips outside.

Make the crate a comfortable resting space. Expect to adjust the schedule as your puppy settles in, and respond to their needs. Early training is a foundation, not a promise of an accident-free transition.

Brush often with a paddle brush, and work through the coat with a slicker brush and steel comb at least weekly. Part the coat into small sections and brush gently from the skin outward; brushing only the surface can leave tangles underneath.

Check behind the ears, beneath the collar, under the legs, and around the tail. Follow with the steel comb, starting with the wider teeth. If it catches, stop and gently work on that area. A comb should move through the coat without pulling.

Keep bathing, conditioner, drying, and professional grooming part of the routine appropriate to your puppy’s coat. Ask us to demonstrate the tools and technique before homecoming.

Use the current food sample to maintain continuity at home. At pickup, review your puppy’s food, portions, and feeding schedule with us, then coordinate any changes with your veterinarian.

Your puppy’s veterinary records show the care already completed and help your veterinarian plan what comes next. Bring those records to the first visit and follow the veterinarian’s vaccination and preventive-care instructions.

Build trust through calm handling, play, and positive experiences. Supervise children and other pets, give your puppy room to rest, and keep introductions short and comfortable.

Introduce everyday sounds, gentle grooming, and new surroundings gradually. Use encouragement and calm affection to reinforce learning. Ask your veterinarian about appropriate exposure to unfamiliar dogs and shared public areas.

Your puppy begins crate exposure, potty routines, leash introduction, and socialization here. You will continue those skills at home. Progress varies, and a new environment can bring accidents or changes in behavior.
